How to Travel For FREE
Most everyone would love to travel (even if they don’t want to go too far), but they don’t want to have to spend the money to get there. There are a few ways that you can travel the world at no cost to yourself.
1. Use the company dime. When your company offers to send you to a conference or even then go. Use the down time (there is usually quite a bit) to take in the local sites. You will have your trip paid for by your company, you will get to see some sites that are new to you, and you may even learn a thing are two while you are away.
2. Do it for charity.
Offer to go on a mission trip or some other type of helping excursion. Since you will be working for a large portion of the time, your expenses are often covered (or you may be able to get a sponsor). Not only will you be helping out someone in need, but your trip will bring you up close and personal with the customs of the area you are visiting.
3. Become a travel writer. Pitch a book about a unique travel experience (or something you have always wanted to do) and find a publisher who is interested AND willing to pay expenses. If a book is too overwhelming to consider then think magazines. Many of the publications on the market today are willing to pay reasonable expenses for their freelance authors.
4. Use your rewards. Sign up for credit cards and other services that give you reward points (or cash back options are even better). Use this found money or these services to go places you have only dreamed of in the past.
5. Sign up to be a guest or a contestant on a television or radio show. It may be a long shot for you to get chosen, but it will be an experience you will never forget if you are selected. The great thing is that many of the shows will pay your expenses (and possible those of friends or family). Be sure to find out before you finalize any agreements.
Traveling can be expensive, but there are ways around that expense. It takes some boldness to get there, but with a little creativity and some compromise you can find ways to travel the world for FREE.
